What a spray reaches
Contact and residual sprays only treat accessible surfaces. German cockroaches live in wall voids, appliance cavities and kickboard spaces, so most of the population is never exposed — and the repellent effect pushes survivors deeper.
What bait reaches
Foragers eat the gel and return to harbourage, where the delayed-action dose passes through the population, including nymphs. Nothing is repelled, so the colony treats itself.
If you have already sprayed
Wipe surfaces near your intended bait points with warm soapy water and let them dry fully. Insecticide residue beside a bait dot makes cockroaches avoid the bait entirely.
Everything below assumes a professional-strength bait — our cockroach gel bait kits kits ship with the applicator and placement map referenced here.
- Never spray over or near bait dots
- Clean sprayed surfaces before baiting
- Use monitor traps to track progress, not to control
