Why gel differs from a spray or fogger

Gel bait is a non-volatile paste applied in tiny, targeted amounts inside cracks and voids. There is no aerosol cloud, no fumes and no need to leave the property or cover food-prep surfaces the way a fogger requires.

Placement rules for pet and child households

Safety in practice is mostly about where the bait goes.

  • Bait inside voids, hinge recesses and cracks — never on open floors or worktops.
  • Keep dots out of reach and out of sight; if you can see it easily, so can a toddler or dog.
  • Apply to a card or foil strip in awkward spots so it can be lifted out cleanly.
  • Wipe smears immediately with warm soapy water.
  • Store the tube capped, upright and out of reach; keep the label with it.

If bait is touched or eaten

Wash the skin with soap and water. If a child or pet has swallowed bait, contact your GP, NHS 111 or your vet and take the product label or tube with you so the active ingredient can be identified. Always read the label before use and apply as directed.
